Can I register for the
event on-line?
Yes.
Use this link for our Active.com event page
. There is a discount
for those who are already members of
Active.com, but membership is not
required to use the site. Instead,
you can register on-line as a guest.
Can children 5 and
younger participate?
Yes! Registration
for a child 5 years old, or younger,
that participates in the Run/Walk is FREE. However, we must still
receive a filled out entry form for
the child, and the child must be
accompanied by a participating parent
or legal guardian. Neighbors, older
siblings, and other unrelated adults
do not qualify as legal guardians.
Sorry,
we cannot provide children 5 years
and younger with a 5K race shirt.

Do children get a
discounted registration fee?
No,
not as individual participants
(except for those 5 years old or
younger).
This
is a fund-raising event for the Norco
Kiwanis Club. We raise these funds so
that we can continue to support our
children's programs as well as to
provide scholarships for high school
seniors. So, the registration fee for
individual runners and walkers is the
same regardless of age.
The
only discount offered is the group
discount of 10 participants. (Please
refer to the answer to the question,
"Is there a group
discount?") We
encouage you to take advantage of the
group discount.
Kiwanis
is a self-supporting service
organization and recieves no
government or agency funding. We
depend solely on those particpating
in our fund raising efforts, and
weand the children who
benefitare grateful for your
donations.
Is there a group
discount?
Yes,
for groups of 10. It could be 10
runners, 10 walkers, or a mix of
runners and walkers, but only for a
full group of 10 -- no partial
groups. To receive the discount, a
group of 10 must all register at the
same time. Group

What are the age group
categories for medals?
Medals
will be awarded to the top three
finishers (3
for males and 3 for females) in each
of 15 categories:
7 and
under; 8-10; 11-14; 15-19; 20-24;
25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49;
50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70
and over.
Also,
special medals
and cash prizes
are awarded to
the top 3 male and top 3 female
runners.

questions . . . . Return to top
Are there medals for the
walkers?
No,
just for the runners. It would be too
difficult to keep track of those who
walk the whole course without
running, jogging, or stubbing their
toe.
Return to frequently asked
questions . . . . Return to top
What if I forget to
bring my ID to the event?
Then
you just go home and get it or you
cannot participate. Because part of
the course is on Navy property, every
participant must have a pass to be on
the course. The only way to get a
pass is to get one at check-in and
that requires a government issued
picture ID, such as a drivers
license.
If you
do not bring your ID and can't
participate, there will not be a
refund.
May I bring my dog if I
keep him (her) on a leash?
No. No
pets are allowed to be on the course.
This includes, but is not limited to,
dogs, cats, horses, birds, fish,
hamsters, snakes, frogs, turtles
(especially not turtles), bunnies,
llamas, and caterpillars.
The
only exceptions to this is our event
security, some of whom may be riding
horses.

questions . . . . Return to top
May I push my child in a
stroller during the walk?
Yes,
but for safety reasons, you may not
push a stroller while running this
course. We do not award medals to
those with strollers. Also, you may
not push an animal in a stroller.
Those pushing strollers should line
up very last at the starting area.
May I ride my bike on
the course?
No.
Bikes, trikes, scooters, skate
boards, skates, and the like, are not
allowed on the course.

administrators, and assignees, hereby
